The starburst motif — ìràwọ̀, meaning star — appears throughout Yoruba adire as a symbol of guidance and brilliance. This kaftan is dyed in a deep aubergine that shifts toward plum in low light and toward violet in daylight. The pattern radiates from a single point at the chest, creating a naturally focal design.
